“For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”
Acts 28:27
Throughout scripture, God shares stories of people who heard Him, received revelations at His hand. He is constantly teaching us how to hear Him and the penalties (the consequences of not hearing Him, not seeing Him, not heading His counsel).
Christ is in all things, through all things. His fingerprint, His messages and themes are infused throughout all creation. All great artists convey their values and themes throughout their works. There is no end to the depth and breadth of God’s Word that echoes through the halls of time in His creations.
In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God. The Word was God. All things were made by Him, through Him, and of Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (See John 1)
He is in the things you love and in the things you despise — in the warm sunlight on a breezy spring afternoon and in the frigid ice storms of winter. All things testify of Him. Look and you will see. Seek and you shall find Him. He is in the song of a bird, in the vibrance of the plants and trees, in you. Hear Him. Seek Him in all things and drink deeply of His living waters.
Let us see Him with our eyes in all the world around us. Let us hear Him in the birdsong, the wind, the rain, the laugh of a child, in all things. Let us be converted to Him that He may heal us!
